Quick Climbing Moves to Learn

Lay-backing

This is when you lean off the side of a flake /crack and push your feet against the other side. They are very efficient as your feet do most of the work while your hands are straightened out .It is advised to keep heels low to maximize amount of rubber against the rock.

Back step

Instead of stepping on a hold with the big toe, you turn your hip to the side and step with the little toe side of the shoe. Back stepping helps get the hip close to the wall to ease the process of arm straightening and energy saving.

Stemming

When one pushes against two opposing surfaces, thus is known as stemming. This can be illuminated by a chimney scenario or any walls that may have protruding features .This entails a collaborative use of hands and the feet, which is an efficient way to climb.
