Zimbabwe ; A Self Medicinal Hub

Zumbani

Known as Lippia javanica , the above is  resilient in the battling of fever and colds .Grown between March and May annually , the Zumbani plant was well known during the peak of the coronavirus pandemic to have had helped a majority if the locals with its anti inflammatory properties. Its dried leaves can also be used to make herbal tea.


Eryngium

This is a collective name given to a plant containing over 200 various species. Also used as a folk medicine in turkey -its primary impact reduces blood sugar levels. Erygium contains a plethora of terpenoids, saponins ,flavonoids and steroids .Apart from its availability to yield essential oil, Eryngium is highly sought after throughout the world.
