Set amongst the tea estates of Eastern Highlands Plantations in the Honde Valley and tropical riparian forest there is a unique lodge which has got to be Zimbabwe's best kept travel secret. It provides accommodation for up to 36 guests and is the ideal venue for family reunions, small conferences, and a quiet getaway. There are affordable meals are served all day from the restaurant whilst the well-stocked bar will keep even the thirstiest guest well-hydrated and cool in the heat of the Honde Valley. The lodge prides itself in having a 9-hole golf course, swimming pool, white water rafting, kayaking, tree canopy tour, birding, forest walks, squash court, table tennis, snooker room, Darts, lounge, and dstv. The lodge has recently added in a number of hiking trails, mountain biking trails, as well as dirt bike trails. . The 60km breathtaking hike starts at Far and Wide Zimbabwe, and winds down through the Pungwe gorge, up over mount Nyangani and down into the Honde Valley, where it finishes at Aberfoyle Lodge. Aberfoyle lodge is known for its unbelievable birding. It attracts a number of avid birders from around the world. If you are interested in birds this is the best place to go. The lodge has an abundance of birds, such as our two resident Palm-nut vultures you are able to see on our golf course. Other birds that can be spotted around the lodge include the following: - Livingstones Turaco -Scaly-throated Honeyguide -Singing Cisticola -Moustached Grass Warbler -Marsh (Anchieta's) Tchagra Although there is a self-catering cottage available the lodge itself is a fully catered lodge offering three-course dinners, full English/Continental breakfasts and bar lunches. Most of our fresh ingredients are taken out of our strictly organic homegrown vegetable garden.
