A Zimbabwean delicacy you must try! https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/a-zimbabwean-delicacy-you-must-try https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/a-zimbabwean-delicacy-you-must-try Here is a list of the most delicious meals that are a must-try in Zimbabwe:

1. Madora: If you find yourself staying at a lodge or hotel that does not serve madora as part of their snacks or relish, make a special request because a trip to Zimbabwe would be incomplete without these unique mopane worms.

2. Kapenta/Matemba: This is served as a snack in the majority of Mashonaland West hotels. Matemba is fished from Lake Kariba and the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe, and Kapenta was imported from Lake Tanganyika between 1966 and 1967.Normally, kapenta is part of a snack for activities like boat cruising and other water sports. The food is either cooked fresh or dried, and fresh kapenta has a different taste from dried ones. Many people tend to love both, especially the smallest kapenta group.

3. Maheu: Maheu is a traditional drink made from maize meal, sorghum, sugar, milk solids, and lactic acid, preserved with potassium sorbate and natamycin. Homemade maheu is made either from leftovers of sadza, water, and sorghum malt (powdered) or with porridge, water, and sorghum malt. National breweries in Zimbabwe also make Maheu and sell it to local supermarkets and restaurants.

4. Muboora with dovi (pumpkin leaves and peanut butter): This is one of the tastiest traditional dishes, which is used as a relish for the staple food in Zimbabwe. The dish is seasonal.

5. Beef stew mixed with green leaves, also known as "Highfields": One should not miss this yummy dish, which is common among Zimbabweans and is also sold in supermarkets.

6. Nhopi: This is more like pumpkin porridge mixed with different ingredients.

8. Kariba Bream: this is found in every corner of the country since the Lake Harvest company delivers this product around the country. This can be grilled, fried, or boiled and still taste delicious!

There are so many dishes that can make a holiday in Zimbabwe a memorable one. Consider visiting Zimbabwe and finding yourself different foods that are not found in other parts of the world unless exported.

Beautiful vistas in all directions & Binga https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/beautiful-vistas-in-all-directions-binga- https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/beautiful-vistas-in-all-directions-binga- The lodge offers breathtaking panoramic views from a number of levels because it is built into a hill's slope.

This Kariba lakefront lodge will make an unforgettable getaway thanks to the private verandahs and balconies of the nine en-suites and two family lodges.

One's desire for an African experience will be sated, as well as an interest in other cultures, when you stay at Masumu River Lodge. We invite visitors to immerse themselves in and learn about the locals' customs, both past, and present, as Binga is a region rich in Tongan culture.

Additionally, Masumu serves as the departure point for Sovereign houseboat safaris.

The Masumu River Lodge invites visitors to explore the local environment, which includes islands, waterways, villages, and museums.

For those who prefer to be a little more active while on a Zimbabwe safari, Lake Kariba fishing excursions are a must.

A private guide will lead you on a sightseeing tour of Binga during which you will visit nearby museums and interact with the local populace.

Any itinerary should also include a stop at the thermal hot springs near Lake Kariba.

A Kariba sunset cruise is available for those who choose to stay at Masamu Binga lodge to spend more time on the water.

The months of April through August are unquestionably the best times of the year to reserve a room at the Binga safari resort on Lake Kariba.

At this time, days are typically dry and sunny with an average high temperature of 25 degrees Celsius.

Remember to take some warmer clothing for the evenings because they can get chilly.

When choosing your Binga accommodations, it is best to steer clear of the summer months, which run from September to March, since they have a tendency to be hot and muggy with the most rainfall of the year.

Make it a point to pack your swimsuit or pants, drying towels, body lotion, and swimming caps if you know you are one of those people who cannot resist wonderful things to take in all of this location's beauty.

Given that locals frequently visit the location and support the participants, the pool's ability to be entered from two places makes it a popular pastime.
If you're one of those proficient swimmers, here is the spot for you: diving.

When exploring the caves, hiring a tour guide is a better idea.
The long-running mining operations gave rise to these caves.
The caves can be seen from a variety of locations, and a tour guide is an ideal person to show tourists around.

The area has been transformed into a picnic area where people bring their picnic baskets and other necessary outdoor refreshment items to make the location ideal for picnics because there are no food outlets close to the green pool.

Be sure to bring a braai stand and charcoal for the braai if you plan to fulfil your picnic fantasies here.
Many people enjoy watching the sunset while in this location, which also offers an amazing sunset vista.

Visit Zimbabwe and see this fascinating jewel in Mutorashanga.

Zimbabwe canoeing spots https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/zimbabwe-canoeing-spots- https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/zimbabwe-canoeing-spots- The most popular locations and routes for canoeing are listed below; if you're interested, you can visit the company websites for additional details.

Canoeing is not a new pastime; it has been practiced for a very long time in Zimbabwe in various locations, though Kariba, Victoria Falls, and Mana Pools have been dominant in providing the activity to tourists.

Zambezi Canoeing Safari (Kariba) - Experience the thrill of paddling through some of Africa's most breathtaking wilderness and witnessing magnificent wildlife as you travel down the great Zambezi River.

Natureways manages these canoe trails in the manner of early explorers, who carried everything in their boats.Imagine the excitement when your canoe paddles by a pod of hippos wading in the shallow water or a herd of elephants drinking from the river.

You couldn't go any closer to the splendor and isolation of the African bush with any kind of transportation. On the shore, two-man dome tents are available for lodging.

Each trip is accompanied by two certified canoe guides who will handle all of the cooking, cleaning, and other camp chores.

Travelers are welcome to assist and canoe trips typically last 2 to 7 nights and cover a daily distance of about 22 kilometers. One  doesn't need to have any prior canoeing experience, but  do need to be able to swim.

Zambezi Canoe safaris with Umdingi (Victoria Falls)-Have you ever considered going canoeing on Zimbabwe's lovely Zambezi River, which is close to Victoria Falls? It's among the most intimate and satisfying ways for anyone to enjoy this magnificent river.

For the most daring tourists, Umdingi Safaris offers a range of canoeing activities like canoe safaris and overnight camping on the banks!Canoe Safaris at Mana Pools National Park (Chirundu)-The best months to go canoeing at Mana Pools are from May through September.

Around October, when the heat picks up, temperatures can exceed 38 °C. All of the campgrounds highlighted on Mana Pools property pages offer canoe tours in addition to other river activities like fishing, birding, and cruises!

Spending a morning, an afternoon, or an entire day on the water is exciting. You can examine the four main pools' features and their surroundings, in addition to the huge Zambezi River, which rushes along the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. The multi-day canoe trip, which offers the chance to explore wide portions of the Zambezi and enormous regions of the national park, may, however, be the most thrilling activity of all!

Lower Zambezi Canoe Safaris (Kariba, Sapi, Chewore & Mupata Gorge)-Canoe safaris on the Lower Zambezi begin in Kariba, 600 kilometers downstream of Victoria Falls. We canoe silently into the vast canyons that lie beneath Kariba. The most distant safari locations include Sapi, Chewore, and the Mupata Gorge after leaving the languid but wild mainstream of Mana Pools.

Visit Zimbabwe and experience the amazing activity that  has been labelled extraodinary by almost all generations that have visited Zimbabwe.

Below are some of the reviews from tourists who have taken the activity in the country;

"The trip was awesome! The river was beautiful and peaceful, we saw a lot of birds, crocks and hippos. Our guides were super friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast and lunch were very tasty. Away from the crowds, close to nature".- Helena K

"We had a great time with Lloyd on the Zambezi River! We got to spot some hippo and throughly enjoyed seeing the river and wildlife from a different perspective. We are both active people and found the canoeing pretty manageable with a very strong headwind to compete against on this particular day - make sure you’re up for it".- Alyse W.

"It's worth every cent that I paid. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Victoria Falls is a beautiful City, the nature is amazing. I Highly recommend".-S.Ncube

You should not miss this activity once in Zimbabwe!

Experience the best of both worlds at Monte Binga, Zimbabwe https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/experience-the-best-of-both-worlds-at-monte-binga-zimbabwe https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/experience-the-best-of-both-worlds-at-monte-binga-zimbabwe When they talk about the best of both worlds, Monte Binga is worth a mention, Monte Binga is the highest mountain in Mozambique and the second highest in Zimbabwe, it is in the Chimanimani mountains on the border between Zimbabwe and Mozambique. This is the ideal destination for hiking and enjoying the scenic views of both worlds, you literally get two for the price of one!

The mountain allows for the most exhilarating hiking experiences as it ranked one of the highest mountains so prepare yourself to climb your heart out and don’t forget to carry some water and a few snacks to nibble on as this climb will take the best part of your day. The best path when hiking is the one marked with cairns, and this will make your navigation easier as compared to randomly climbing up the mountain. It is believed that with aid of a telescope you can peek into the Indian ocean, given that you have climbed high enough specifically at the peak of Binga and of course on clear days, it’s a feast for the eyes.

The mountain however has little to no water as you approach the left but there are a few tiny puddles of water which strangely add to the decoration of this beautiful mountain. One thing is for sure, this place is worth touring as it provides not only beautiful scenery but the adrenaline spike that we all need.

The Leopard's Lair lounge and bar, a cave-style boma for pre-dinner beverages, or the well-liked lodge library, are all great places to unwind at the end of the day. The eight thatched A-frame cottages, each with a private terrace and en-suite toilet, exude an inventive African spirit.

One of tourist wrote " A superbly beautiful site in the Matopos. Friendly efficient staff who cater to your every request. Fabulous sunset on Lightening Rock and bush breakfast are never to be forgotten. A pristine collection of rock paintings that are easily accessed on a morning guided walk. Splash in the rock pool to cool off at the end of a warm day. End off a relaxing day around a boma fire into the night. What a great experience!" .

The place is worthy staying and they offer all activities one can ever need while located near a wildlife park and Matobo Hills has one of the highest concentrations of leopards in Africa.

Leonarora and Annette had this to say after visiting Zimbabwe and having stayed  at the place

A memorable place to stay:

We, a female couple, traveled around Zimbabwe for three weeks in November 2017, and our stay at Big Cave Camp was a definite highlight. We stayed here for two and a half days, and an extra day or two would have been lovely. The place is quite small, and breakfast, as well as a set menu for lunch and dinner, are taken family-style with the other guests, the delightful manager, Lin, and the on-site guide, Shepherd. The food was amazing here, which is a big plus since the place is secluded and there’s nowhere else to go.

Both the common areas and the rooms are very tastefully laid out. It was wonderful simply to hang out and just enjoy the extraordinary surroundings. The place is situated in a huge, private park bordering the national park with lots of birds and animals like zebras, wildebeest, hyraxes, lizards, monkeys, and leopards. The Internet was very expensive and very slow, so we decided to go offline and take in the splendid view from our balcony and our various tours with Shepherd instead. He is extremely knowledgable, particularly when it comes to birds, and we can definitely recommend his guided walks and sunset tour. He knows the area so well.

The area itself is stunning, with impressive rock formations, and it’s a delight to be able to walk around the area and take in the scenery without fear of wild animals. We wholeheartedly recommend this place to nature lovers and bird lovers alike.

If you considering visiting Matobo Hills, consider this place and live the dream many tourists have fulfilled.

Zim Bird Watchers Guide https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/zim-bird-watchers-guide https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/zim-bird-watchers-guide Go Outside

Every morning is birds paradise so step out , breath the air , if getting out of bed is a hustle , just take a peep through your window many birds like to hang around backyards or around nearby trees / vegetation. If you feel you can do more , attract the birds with water by creating a birdbath structure which might make your home a popular drinking spot for the birds.

Invest in Binoculars

Optics are very important , therefore look for a pair of binoculars with a good lifetime and waterproof warranty . Once you purchase them , point the binoculars to the darkest point close in the store you are in and watch through them, this will help your binoculars are powerful enough to catch a glimpse of either the smallest or the fastest birds through minimalistic conditions.

Connect with Fellow Birdwatchers

Join groups , one of the most friendly demography I've grown to know personally is the birdwatcher group. They are always to share information and might even help you find particular birds in your area.

That being said , Wake Up , Get a pair and Go!

Well, you can tell him yourself when you visit the Lion and Cheetah Park.

Apparently, there was a recent housewarming for the newest addition to the wild family, 6 grey wolf pups, so come bearing some excitement for these adorable teen wolf siblings. There is also the presence of white lions, my gosh what a sight!

A trip down the historical lane at Great Zimbabwe Ruins https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/a-trip-down-the-historical-lane-at-great-zimbabwe-ruins https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/a-trip-down-the-historical-lane-at-great-zimbabwe-ruins To those of us who enjoy a little adventure down the historic lane, Great Zimbabwe Ruins as an epicenter of Zimbabwe’s history, culture, politics, and business, is an ideal year-round travel destination. This place is by far a product of architectural genius.

Great Zimbabwe is a medieval city in the Southern-eastern hills of Zimbabwe near Lake Mutirikwi and the town of Masvingo. With its perplexing stone-built infrastructure, it acts as a magnet for keen history fanatics from all over the world. It not only exudes the majesty of those that erected it but also evokes a strong sense of euphoria to its beholders. Among this beauty’s prominent features are its walls some of which are eleven meters high and constructed without mortar, such brilliance!

The structure is said to have been erected by the ancestral Shona and it served as a political hub as well as a large and wealthy global trading network. The archaeological site at Great Zimbabwe has a sum of 3 sections, the first one being the Hill Complex which is structured with ruins that sit atop the steepest Hill of the site, it is this place where all the religious activities were conducted.

The second section is by far the most intriguing, The Great Enclosure, a circular area below the Hill Complex whose walls are a high as a kite built with no mortar relying only on carefully shaped rocks to hold the walls shape on their own, talk about precision! Inside the enclosure is a second set of walls, it is somewhat like a maze, or a labyrinth carefully crafted by majestic ancient hands of the Shona, it is one of the largest existing structures from ancient sub-Saharan Africa.

Alright, that's enough of today's history lesson, what's a trip without a treat? Great Zimbabwe Hotel offers luxurious accommodation and a remarkable set of activities which will make your trip worthwhile. Life is a beach in Zimbabwe https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/life-is-a-beach-in-zimbabwe https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/life-is-a-beach-in-zimbabwe

In the province of Matabeleland North, Zimbabwe, Binga is a district on the south-eastern coast of Lake Kariba. Binga was constructed to rehabilitate the people of BaTonga whose homelands were flooded when Lake Kariba was created. Given its leading treasures in tourism and wildlife resources in the region, the district is one of the forgotten.

For a bit of culture shock take an hour to go through The BaTonga Museum which will make you an expert in the rich culture of the people who have inhabited the area since about 300AD. Something great for the whole family and especially for the kids.

The primary occupation and subsistence of the population in the vicinity is fishing. The Binga concession is known for huge hippos, crocodiles, and elephants as well as a paradise for birdlife as it is a water-rich region. Take out those cameras ladies and gentlemen.

If you are thinking of staying a little longer then no problem! There are a wide variety of villas and small lodges on the lakeside, as well as campsites like Kulizwe and Njiri Lodges, Masumu River Lodge, Chilla Cottages, and Binga Rest Camp, whose facilities provide a range of amenities, like African and Western food, from self-catering in the guesthouses to a five-star service. You're not going to be disappointed.

I hope you have a great time at Binga, whose name roughly translates to either ‘the enclosure surrounding a chief’s village’ or ‘a thick forest country’. Living and learning!

ULTIMATE ZIM BOYS DAY OUT https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/ultimate-zim-boys-day-out https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/ultimate-zim-boys-day-out FISHING

If you’re a fishing enthusiast, then we’ve found the ultimate weekend getaway for you and your fishing pals. Lake Kariba, built by damming the Zambezi River, is the largest man-made lake in the world. Many fish species, including Bream, Catfish, Eel, Bottlenose, Cornish Jack, Chessa, Nkupe, Squeaker, and the famous Tigerfish, are found in the lake. A fleet of fishing boats is ready to take you out to catch some extremely big fish, and the club is also going to clean and pack all your catches so that you can take them back later with you.

MASTER THE ART OF GRILLING

Haka Park is situated just off Mutare Road past the Harare Drive roundabout right next to the entrance to the Cleveland Dam and is privately run and in very good condition. There are a variety of roofed braai spots, with benches and proper braai spots in different spots in the park, all in excellent condition. So you can be schooled on how to braai with your friends there and impress those in-laws of yours at your next braai. Thank me later! They're very private and secluded, and they sit amid some giant, massive rocks that Harare is so famous for. If you are in for a little more adventure you can try their horse riding and canoeing facilities.

CLIFF DIVING

I am sure a few of you have heard of Mutorashanga (a place located in Gweru) and it’s still on your bucket list. For those with acrophobia (fear of heights), I wouldn’t recommend this but the jump ranges from 5-10m, absolutely exhilarating. It has great reviews and a thumbs up from me. Look it up, what you see is what you get.

HIKING

My dear brothers, uncles, and fathers hiking is healthy for you. Getting outside for even a short hike regularly can reduce your risk of heart disease, lower blood pressure, and cholesterol and help to prevent type II diabetes.  Chimanimani mountain is a great destination for you and the guys to go hiking. It is a great weekend getaway for you and the guys.

I hope you have a great time exploring these activities and bring home some great memories to share with the gang!

Places to match your mood in Zimbabwe https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/places-to-match-your-mood-in-zimbabwe https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/places-to-match-your-mood-in-zimbabwe First off, let us know about our colours and what mood they represent.

  • *     Amber: Nervous, unhappy.
  • *     Green: Average, calm.
  • *     Blue: Emotions are charged, active, relaxed.
  • *     Violet: Passionate, excited, very happy.
  • *     Black/Gray: Tense, Strained, anxious.

1.       FEELING AMBER

What we are trying to do here is to turn that sad face into a smile. So if you are feeling unhappy I would suggest going to someplace that makes you happy. My suggestion would be to visit any place with art. When you see the weird and yet beautiful pieces that people make, it’s bound to make you laugh a little. You can take a tour around the National Art Gallery. From a personal point of view, every time I visit the gallery I bump into so many thought-provoking pieces, from poetry, paintings to sculptures. Alternatively you can visit the Chapungu Sculpture Park in Msasa. I’m sure a few things will get your mind off things and put a smile on your face.

2.       FEELING GREEN

This mood is something we would like to maintain, so we are not going to try and turn that calm into a storm. So we are going green but not too much. Mana Pools is a perfect place to enjoy intimate encounters with wildlife, in part due to its remote nature. It helps you to go out on a walking safari, one of the aspects that makes this national park so special. Although for others, this can sound slightly dangerous, the feeling of adventure available is irresistible. Keep that cool, cheetahs don’t like attitude!

3.       FEELING BLUE

I am so tempted to talk of Chinhoyi caves right now, and I will! because of its crystal blue water. Feeling blue? Let’s match your mood with the colour of the place. The caves are made up of a network of tubes that lead you down to the main cave on a descent that is breath-taking in its aqua-coloured seawater. This pool is known as the Sleeping Pool and among divers, who have gone as deep as 50 m and the visibility is still amazingly fine, it has become very famous.

4.       FEELING VIOLET

It’s love season and we have you covered! Maybe you want to spend some alone time with your loved one and we have just the spot for you. Wild Geese Lodge! Set within a private wildlife sanctuary of thirty acres of indigenous garden and Savannah overlooking the magnificent Mazowe Hills, Wild Geese Lodge is conveniently situated fifteen minutes from the centre of Harare. Guests will take the opportunity to stroll in the Savannah surrounded by a diverse population of antelope, magnificent Sable, Zebra and Eland at Wild Geese Lodge in Harare-ideal for wildlife photography or bird lovers. Surprise your loved one and show them just how happy, excited and passionate you are about them. Thank me later!

5.       FEELING BLACK/ GRAY

Everyday hustles can get you feeling strained, tense and a little bit anxious. This weekend let’s try to get that tension off. This granite hill on the outskirts of Harare is a great place to go for sun-downers, also known as Domboshava, literally translated as 'The Red Rock'. It's a simple-ish walk to the top, and it's not too impossible to take a picnic basket! There's a nominal admission fee that can be paid to one of the officials in uniform near the car park on arrival. If you are looking to go somewhere 2/3 hours away then Nyanga is for. The trip is worthwhile.

It’s not so a heavy ask to go where your mood takes you. Blend in take a sip and enjoy. Life is too short!

7.Matobo National Park-About 25 miles (40 kilometers) south of Bulawayo, is where you'll find Matobo National Park.In the indigenous Ndebele language, the name of the park is "Bald Heads," alluding to the intriguing granite rock formations that dot the landscape. Many of these boulders are marked with ancient rock art that the San bushmen produced some 2,000 years ago, and some of them are incredibly balanced on top of one another.

8.Chimanimani National Park is a mountainous area on the country's eastern border with Mozambique.
The park, which is characterized by deep gorges, verdant valleys, and towering hills, is the ideal location for anyone who wants to hike, camp, and get lost in Zimbabwe's wilderness. The tallest peaks are above 7,990 feet (2,400 meters) high.As a result of the park's lower parts being covered in dense virgin forest, elusive animals like eland, sable, and blue duiker antelope can find refuge there.

9.Mutare, Zimbabwe's fourth-largest city and also in the country's far east, is known for its laid-back vibe that is influenced by its picturesque highland backdrop. It is renowned for its quaint guesthouses and B&Bs, notably the well-liked Ann Bruce Backpackers, which offers affordable lodging. For fans of transportation, the historic Mutare Museum is a must-see. It has a noteworthy collection of vintage automobiles, motorcycles, and steam engines. For those who enjoy the outdoors, the Bvumba Botanical Reserve offers stunning views and trails where you may spot uncommon animals like the Swynnerton's Robin and the unique Samango monkey.

10. The Chinhoyi Caves, in Zimbabwe's north-central region, are a mystery. The Chinhoyi Caves National Park protects this underground network of caverns and tunnels made of limestone and dolomite. They may have been inhabited since at least the first century, according to pottery and human remains found here. Most notably, they gave Mashona chief Chinhoyi and his people safety from raiding tribes.

+263 History Channel https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/263-history-channel https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/263-history-channel NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM OF ZIMBABWE

In Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, along Leopold Takawira Road, the Natural History Museum of Zimbabwe is located. The museum includes exhibits that highlight Zimbabwe's history, mineral wealth, and nature, including the world's second-largest mounted elephant. Awesome things! It is one of the nation's five national museums and Zimbabwe's only natural history museum. The museum has nine public show galleries, a 120-seat lecture hall, a cafeteria, and eight research departments with extensive collections of studies and ongoing research in the following disciplines: arachnology and invertebrates, entomology, ornithology, mammalogy, herpetology, ichthyology, paleontology, and geology and archaeology.

KHAMI RUINS

If you take a trip to Bulawayo you might as well check out the Khami Ruins. Khami is a ruined city situated in Zimbabwe, 22 kilometers west of Bulawayo. It was once the capital of the Torwa dynasty's the Kalanga Kingdom of Butwa. It is now a national park, and in 1986 it became a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and who are you not to visit if it’s considered a world heritage site by UNESCO.

RAILWAY MUSEUM

By the looks of it, it seems as if you Bulawayo has a whole history to tell. The Bulawayo Railway Museum is a railway museum that houses many exhibits on the history of the railway system in Zimbabwe, formerly Rhodesia, located at Bulawayo Railway Station in Zimbabwe. Its oldest exhibits date back to 1897 and include the personal railway coach of Cecil Rhodes. The museum is owned by Zimbabwe's National Railways. Some steam locomotives from the museum have, in the past, been refurbished and returned to service because of the severe shortage of rolling stock.

NATIONAL HEROES ACRE

A trip to National Heroes Acre may make your kids consider being a hero and buried in such a cool place. National Heroes Acre, or simply Heroes Acre, in Harare, Zimbabwe, is a burial ground and national monument. Situated on a ridge seven kilometers from Harare, towards Norton, the 57-acre site is found. It’s claimed aim is to honor guerrillas killed in the Rhodesian Bush War by the Patriotic Front and contemporary Zimbabweans whose commitment or commitment to their country justifies their burial in the shrine. I visited this place when I was a kid and it was a beautiful and exciting experience for me. The view of Harare is beautiful from the high point of this place.

GREAT ZIMBABWE

A great place to have an appreciation of this country’s history is Great Zimbabwe. Great Zimbabwe is a ruined city in the south-eastern hills of Zimbabwe near Lake Mutirikwe and the town of Masvingo. It was the capital of the Kingdom of Zimbabwe during the country's Late Iron Age. It is believed that Great Zimbabwe served as a royal palace for the local monarch. It would, as such, be used as the seat of political power. The walls, some of which were over five meters high, were among the most prominent features of the edifice. Without mortar, they were made. The city was finally abandoned and fell into ruin. Visiting this place will leave you with so much appreciation.

MUTARE MUSEUM

Mutare Museum is a museum in Mutare, Zimbabwe. It is one of the four national museums of Zimbabwe and was initially established as a society in 1954 before becoming a national museum in 1959. The Mutare Museum continues to be accommodating, as well as entertaining and educational, despite being plagued by decades of underfunding. The displays, especially the Transport Gallery and the Boultbee Gallery, may be old and a bit tired, but they still feature high-quality exhibits. There is plenty of material for the general visitor looking for background information on Manicaland, for example, the show of weapons is recognized as one of the best in Africa, and the transport exhibits are excellent. A visit to this great museum is certainly recommended.

Activity List : Zimbabwe https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/activity-list-zimbabwe https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/activity-list-zimbabwe Attend a Festival

In Africa, there are thousands of ethnic groups, each celebrating their passage rituals, religious festivals, and local harvests, but it's not always straightforward to gain entry or to know what's going on when, as a visitor and an outsider. Fortunately, there are many major annual festivals and cultural activities where you can enjoy movies, poetry, drama, and music in an organized atmosphere.  Zimbabwe is host to a plethora of enjoyable feats such as the Bulawayo Music Festival (Bulawayo), Carnival  (Victoria Falls), Shoko festival (Harare) , HIFA (Harare), Jikinya Dance Festival and many alike.

  Bungee Jumping

How does dropping 111 meters down the world's largest waterfall for a start sound? Check the edge of anxiety and indulge in a heart-thumping free-fall that may be the longest four seconds of your life. You can bungee off a bridge at Victoria Falls, swim up to the edge of the highest waterfall in the world, or white-water raft down some of the wildest rapids on earth.

Fishing

Kariba, Zimbabwe! This is the place to try it if you're into your fishing, otherwise swing in a hammock, pop open a beer, and take in the sights, sounds, and smells of sub-Saharan Africa at their best! Or try the World’s first freshwater park (according to UNESCO), Lake Malawi National Park. There are more tropical fish in the lake than any lake in the world — 1,300 species. Talk of variety!

Horseback riding

A prevalent nomination on our bucket-list is horse-back riding. Gallop through the great expanses, and ride near the glorious lions, elephants slinking, and buffalo grazing. As the wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes lope around you. Feel at the edge and relish the element of excitement in Hwange, Victoria Falls, Snake Park -to mention but a few.

Eat!

Last Last! Be sure to try the local Zimbabwean delicacies (this tip is not limited to the confines of Zimbabwe – regardless of the country you visit). Most culinary tours include shopping for ingredients at local markets, studying local recipes, and mastering techniques, and, of course, a reasonable amount of wine sampling and dining in fine restaurants. From cuisines found in upscale restaurant to the local gango, you are guaranteed an eye-opening mouth-watering experience that will never be forgotten.
