Team building through travelling https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/team-building-through-travelling https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/team-building-through-travelling Success of a business is contingent on more than just the skills and abilities of each individual team member within an organisation. Workers have to learn how to function and work together as a cohesive whole. That does not happen by haphazardly. It takes some good team building and bonding.

The most optimal means of building stronger connections between team members is to have them get out of the daily office environment. When employees meet each other outside of the daily routines and predictable patterns of the workplace setting, they create stronger bonds between each other and develop a better understanding of each other’s strengths and abilities.

This is where group travel comes into play, providing you with a fantastic tool to aid in improving the performance of your team.

Team travelling has a lot of things it shapes on your team namely :

Time management.Group travel provides you with a fantastic opportunity to impart collective time-management methods, tips and techniques.

Encourages leadership. With such an opportunity given to one of your employees, you may be quite shocked to find out which members of your team step up to the plate in a group travel setting

Builds confidence.Making opportunities for your team to let off some steam together reboots your team’s confidence and boosts productivity significantly.

Improves relationships.Be aware that the team that learns how to play together stays together!

Gives motivation.Group travel and team-building activities can give a much-needed break from the usual “business as usual” routine.

Increases efficiency.Team-building events are a great opportunity for workers to take a step back and identify means to improve or enhance business processes.

Brings about new ideas. You may be quite astonished at the innovations and improvements that come about from all that collaborative brainpower unleashed in a more relaxed environment.

Builds trust.Getting to know the individuals you work with is vital to building a strong sense of trust and understanding amongst one another.

Improves performance. workforce is a complex machine with a lot of independently moving parts within it. Frequent calibration is required to improve and maintain that machine’s performance for the long run and success of your business.

Encourages teamwork.Group travel team-building activities strengthens an organization by teaching  staff members to coordinate and work together toward common business goals that the  company wishes to attain.

Canoeing in Zimbabwe https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/canoeing-in-zimbabwe https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/canoeing-in-zimbabwe
The tips are as follows:
1. Paddle on opposite sides of the boat.
Your craft won't tip back and forth as a result, and the boat will be more stable in motion.
If you're in choppy water or trying to make progress against a headwind, kneel for increased stability.

2. Sync your paddling movements with your partner.
Yes, find your rhythm.
Setting the pace is the responsibility of the bow (front) paddler, and the stern (rear) paddler's job is to follow that tempo.
This guarantees that your forward motion is being maximized.
Until you master a couple of additional steering techniques, specifically the J-stroke and the sweep stroke, calling a "switch" frequently can help keep your boat moving straight.

3. Keep your paddle shaft vertical and it's not as simple as it appears.
A vertical paddle shaft will ensure that your paddle blade remains vertical during the power portion of your stroke, maximizing forward propulsion every time. The alternative is what we refer to as "lily-dipping," which is fine when an excellent conversation takes priority over going anywhere specific with your partner or companion you will be doing the activity with.

4. Please put it on your PFD.
You never know when something absurd will occur.

5. Dress for the temperature of the water rather than the temperature of the air.

6. Know your boundaries.
Good trip planning includes having a map and understanding the experience that lies ahead.
Before you travel, measure.
On flat water, inexperienced paddlers often travel at 2 mph.
Paddlers with experience looking for a workout can travel at 3–3.5 mph.
Consider how river currents might affect your pace and route.

7. Use sunscreen everywhere you need it.
Sunlight reflected off the water will cause burns in unexpected areas, such as behind your ears and beneath your nose.
There is more reflection off metal surfaces in an aluminum canoe.
Keep those pricey glasses where they need to be with a wide-brimmed hat, an alligator clip, or sunglasses on a keeper cord, which will also increase your level of sun protection.

8. Get back in your boat and practice.
Practice canoe rescues over canoe escapes if you're paddling alongside another vessel.
The best recommendation is to paddle near the shore and in the lee if you are canoeing alone.
9. Be cautious of wide horizon lines on a flat river.
They frequently have low-head dams.
Despite having a small 2-4 foot drop and a benign appearance, underwater currents may ensnare and hold boats and the people inside them due to the way water hydraulics function.
Recognize these risks and learn how to navigate around them.
10. Be sure to bring plenty of water, as well as fun snacks, a picnic for a floating dinner date, fishing gear, binoculars, and extra sweets.
Alternately, carry headlamps and glow sticks for each end of your boat and take in the starry sky while floating in the center of your preferred lake.
Bring your imagination to the water.

See you on the boat!

Choosing Safari Binoculars& Zimbabwe https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/choosing-safari-binoculars-zimbabwe https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/choosing-safari-binoculars-zimbabwe You will have a wide range of options for specifications, features, and prices when selecting binoculars, even though it could seem overwhelming, there is a technique to determine which binoculars are right for you and your needs.

This basic advice tries to make choosing the ideal pair of binoculars for your adventure or activity simple.

For serious wildlife observation, especially bird watching, full-size binoculars like the 8 x 42 and 10 x 50 are the best options.
The wide lens gives you a wider field of vision, making it simpler to identify animals and birds as you take in a wide, magnified landscape—perfect for safaris and looking for game in the forest.

Compact binoculars like the 8x25 and 10x25 are lighter and more portable, making them ideal for travel or backpacking.
Compact binoculars are less suitable for game viewing and bird watching due to their narrow field of vision and poor performance in low light.
They work better throughout the day and when searching for animals on a wider plain.

For the occasional vacation, medium-sized binoculars, like the 7x35 and 10x32, are the perfect compromise between the two.
The more frequent game and bird watcher or hunter can choose the medium binoculars for more convenience but with a smaller lens, whilst the keen ranger or bird spotter will desire a larger pair of binoculars.

If you wear glasses; see below on how to choose your binoculars for a vacation with game viewing as part of the activities.

The majority of binoculars have a feature known as eye relief, which allows you to comfortably hold the binoculars away from your face.
When buying binoculars, people who wear glasses should look for eye relief of at least 11 mm to prevent occlusion, discomfort, or having to take off their glasses.

Eyecups, which have adjustable depth and width to fit various face shapes and depths, are occasionally used as this eye relief.
That is the advantage of having a good set of binoculars.

You don't need to wear glasses if you are just short-sighted when using binoculars.
The way your glasses work as magnifiers is quite similar to how binoculars work, so even without your glasses, the binoculars should keep things clear.

Visit Zimbabwe and taste the best of Africa.

Swimming Tips for Zim swimmers https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/swimming-tips-for-zim-swimmers https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/swimming-tips-for-zim-swimmers

T   The piece is inspired by Michael Phelps and Olympic coach David Marsh. Mammoths Academy may have hinted me to start off with that to grasp your attention. Anyway,  given that informercial is already there I'll graze through for the benefit of our local readership that may not have access to that platform.

    1.    Swim Tall

Keep your muscles in your lower abs and back taut as you power yourself through the water to keep propulsion from both your arms and legs

    Drop an Anchor

Grip the water with your entire forearm and hand, holding your forearm a right angle to your upper arm and digging in like as if you’re gathering sand with a shovel

    Keep your head down

“I look pretty much straight down at the bottom of the pool " says Phelps. It helps with reducing strain on your neck and lower back .

Drag your feet . If you kick good you swim good

The secret is ensuring your legs are taut , scissoring you through the water , while your feet remain flexible.

So here you have it lets hit the pool and give it a try !

Lets get prepared for that worst case scenario https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/lets-get-prepared-for-that-worst-case-scenario https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/lets-get-prepared-for-that-worst-case-scenario SCENARIO

There are charges on your bill that you didn't expect.

    WHAT TO DO

First things first, ask for the proof of charges, you might have been charged for something you never used. Mistakes happen. It's better to place all payments on a credit card, so if any fees are questionable, you're safe. Also bear in mind that the rental price might not include air conditioning, pool heating, telephone, Internet, drivers, and other utilities, so be sure to make the agent itemize all that is part of the price before you sign it.

    SCENARIO

    You lose your passport abroad.

    WHAT TO DO

I think everyone would panic if this happened to you. You’d be thinking to yourself, “how do I go back?”. Well not to spare, you can contact the nearest embassy. They will help you get a temporary passport as long as you have a form of backup identification (like your driver’s license). You’ll probably have to pay a fee, so it’s a good idea to bring some cash with you.

    SCENARIO

Getting arrested whilst on your trip

    WHAT TO DO

Come on guys, what would you have done to get arrested, chewing gum? As funny as it is you might get in trouble in Singapore for that So how about we do some research first on the things that can get us in trouble in a foreign land. If you get in trouble because of some prescription drugs, in particular, those with codeine and other narcotic-like ingredients, then it would be wise to carry your prescription with you. Be aware of buildings or areas that considered political installation and avoid taking pictures or wandering off to those areas.

    SCENARIO

    You lose your wallet

    WHAT TO DO

The first thing to do in all these scenarios is DO NOT PANIC! The best thing is to make a call to your bank to canceling all your cards to avoid losing all your money, also report your items to be missing so that you won’t be charged with any fees. Losing your wallet is a tough situation so you might want to look into other ways of getting cash. Maybe try the old method of having someone from home wire your money to you via Western Union, still, that requires you to provide some form of identification. I wish I could help you there but this is a tricky one.

     SCENARIO

You get injured on your tour

    WHAT TO DO

So you slide off the trail while you are hiking and hurt your ankle or arm, the best is to contact a doctor. If it’s minor then you might make use of the first aid kit you hopefully packed. Avoid unnecessary injections if you have concerns when it comes to the hospital’s hygiene. Let’s just practice safety always, wear your seatbelt when in a car, avoid drinking intoxicating yourself before any activities like swimming, or rock climbing. Clear head always guys!

Breathe and Live; Why you should travel https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/breathe-and-live-why-you-should-travel https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/breathe-and-live-why-you-should-travel It’s appalling to note that not everyone wants to travel, to some it is a complete waste of resources and to some, it is just a matter of hodophobia (fear of traveling). It shouldn't be difficult to circumnavigate the globe and it is not. It's something everyone should be able to do at least once in a lifetime. It's important to see what's out there, whether you want to spend a few years or just a couple of months traveling around the world. It's up to you to fulfill the dream and take the first step.

    AN OPPORTUNITY TO REINVENT YOURSELF

Sociocultural travel, particularly to a foreign country, can assist you to reassess and rethink your life. Exposing yourself to other cultures and other places can give you perspective and appreciation. Sticking to your little bubble sometimes means losing out on a better life or unappreciative behavior of what’s around you. Know what’s out there and you’ll see how you think changes!  “If you allow it, travel can expand your mind in a way you never realized was possible,” says solo travel expert and founder of the Trusted Travel Girl, Valerie Wilson.

IT’S HEALTHY FOR YOUR MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH

Have you ever thought to yourself that the simple cure to your depression is a change in environment, a break from the everyday hustle and bustle? Our minds are programmed to follow a certain routine and this may lead to depression and anxiety. Broaden your options of relieving stress by traveling more, disconnect from your daily routine, your body will be super grateful. I have seen traveling work wonders for me and even people around me. Trust me the glow is different.

    TRAVEL BUILDS RELATIONSHIPS

Whether you are traveling with your friends, family, or alone it’s bound to give you some much-needed bonding time. The memories and obstacles tackled bring you closer together. Meeting new people can lead to you having destinations to go to later in the future and spend time with these new friends.

    TRAVEL BUILDS CHARACTER

Travel most definitely empowers you. That fear of heights is not going to be conquered by stating indoors. That fear of water is not going to be conquered if you keep bringing up excuses each time a friend suggests a trip. Get used to picking up new words in a different language every time you travel and you will see improvements in your brain capacities, as Dan Roitman wrote in the Huffington Post. You might even bump into challenges that change the way that you think. Now that’s self-development right there!

What’s the travel lesson you learned?

"Mosi&oa&Tunya"& A place to start or end of any African Safari journey https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/mosioatunga-a-place-to-start-or-end-of-any-african-safari-journey https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/mosioatunga-a-place-to-start-or-end-of-any-african-safari-journey Mosi-oa-Tunya is one of the seven world wonders of nature.

The place is renowned for offering a wide variety of adventurous activities, and there are numerous safari opportunities available to visitors to Zimbabwe.

Victoria Falls can be accessed from either Zimbabwe or Zambia; the towns are called Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side and Livingstone on the Zambian side, respectively.

Each has a busy international airport, solid infrastructure, and a wide selection of hotels and lodges. The bridge over the Zambezi River joins Zambia and Zimbabwe just downstream of the falls.

Historically, Zimbabwe has been regarded as the best country to observe Victoria Falls because 75% of the falls are located on Zimbabwean soil.

The major national park in Zimbabwe offers a stroll around the falls with 16 distinct vantage points so you can see them from all directions.

On the other hand, Zambia can only see 25% of the Eastern Cataract Falls, and also, on the Zimbabwean side of the falls, this part is still visible.

The Zimbabwean side of the falls never dries up, no matter what time of year it is. The main sections of the waterfalls and the Devil's Cataract will still have a spectacular flow of water even during the driest part of the year, between October and November. On the other hand, in Zambia, the Zambian section of the falls totally dries up during the height of the dry season, offering visitors only a view of the cliffs' rock faces.

The best time to visit Victoria Falls is between the months of February and May, just following the summer rains, when you may witness the biggest sheet of falling water in the world flowing at its most intense rate.

LOVERS BUDGET: Low cost tips for you Him and Her https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/lovers-budget-low-cost-tips-for-you-him-and-her https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/lovers-budget-low-cost-tips-for-you-him-and-her Does love really don’t cost a thing? In previous articles, we have touched on a few places to pop the question, and now let’s try to see if we can create and maintain your romantic flame burning without being financially affected.

    TRAVEL IN THE OFF SEASON

There are a high season and an off-season during which almost any travel destination is both cheaper and less crowded. You can enjoy off-season trips for a fraction of the normal price. And that's only one way you can save a lot of money by arranging your vacation at the "wrong" time of year.

    LIVE IN THE MOMENT

Now let’s be honest, our daily routine is already planned and we run on a schedule. So instead of planning every second of your lover’s spree, just go with the flow. After all, you want to do things you wouldn’t do at home. So sleep in, wake up later than usual, schedule just one or two activities for the day, and leave the rest to anything that gets you that quality time with your partner.

    BRING YOUR FOOD

Did you know according to priceonomics, every time you eat at a restaurant you pay 5 times as much as you would prepare at home. A home-cooked meal does not sound as romantic as a candlelit dinner but with the right foods, and a little imagination it will go a long way. Don’t forget to pack a bottle of wine for my wine lovers.

    BE FLEXIBLE

Now let’s be honest, hotel bookings can be pretty expensive and you have to be a bit flexible when it comes to lodgings. Camping can be a great money saver for your romantic getaway. Imagine surrounded by nothing but nature and cuddles from your lover, now that is a win! You can look into private hostels with en suite bathrooms as another option. Some people even rent a room or even the whole house, this saves you as most of these places have a kitchen. Food is always the first thing to consider since we all have to eat. Another option is house swaps, spending your weekend in someone else’s home and give them access to yours. There are platforms to help you in this exchange.

    GO ON ROAD TRIPS

A lot of destinations I touched in my romantic getaway article are within Zimbabwe and that means you can drive there than flying which cheaper. It spares you a whole lot of airline hustle and you get to bond with your partner on those road trips listening to a playlist you both enjoy.

The thing that makes a romantic getaway romantic is focusing on each other, away from the daily routines. Now, what’s your romantic getaway story?

Packing Manual for YOU https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/packing-manual-for-you https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/packing-manual-for-you MONEY AND TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

Let us get to the important things first.

We strongly suggest exchanging your money for the currency you are going to be using on your trip. It would also be safe to carry your currency for when you go back to your country after your African Safari. Also carry your ATM card (visa card), although this will most likely be expensive for you. Another travel document you need is your PASSPORT. If you intend to leave the country your passport should be valid for at least 6 months and will have at least 2 pages to stamp per country you are visiting. To cover everything you need, don’t forget your travel insurance. You can leave a copy with someone in your country just in case of an emergency. Speaking of emergency, keep your emergency numbers on your travel documents. So have your money, ATM visa card, passport, and travel insurance packed!

    ELECTRONICS

We can’t imagine our clientele spending a second without either phone or laptop so it is advisable to carry a charger . A power bank, hard drive, or flash drive, an adapter will come into use on your trip. If you have a multi-way extension lead or charger then that will be a win for you. Don’t forget that camera to capture all the beautiful scenery and moments.

    TOILETRIES

Staying fresh is of importance always, So make sure you have your soap (just small enough to fit in your toiletry bag, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, sanitary products, hand sanitizer, body lotion, toilet paper, moisturizer, shampoo and conditioner  (we don’t want sweaty and a bad odour coming from your hair. Africa is hot and a sunscreen of 30 and above is healthy for your skin. I love Neutrogena Ultra Day Touch Sunscreen. Look for heel cream for those feet, all that walking will leave your feet with cracks and very sore. Keep those bugs away on your safari with an Insect repellent. Carry your Malaria tablets and first aid kit for mishaps along the trip.

    CLOTHING AND ACCESSORIES

As mentioned earlier, the African sun can be very hot and carrying a hat and pair of sunglasses will be good for your eyes and face. I would recommend those hats with something that will keep it from being blown away to the face of a clueless hyena. If you are heading somewhere with a beach, then take a sarong or more usually, take a rainbow kimono.

If you are going to be spending a lot of time on safaris and camping carry a warm jumper or jacket, a scarf, lightweight rain jacket, vest tops, loose comfortable pants, maxi dress or skirt, swimsuit, pyjamas, shorts, jeans, a long-sleeved shirt to protect your skin from the harsh sun. or shoes you might want to consider trainers or boots, these are comfortable for those long walks and avoid your feet from being hurt by sharp objects. Carry your flip flops, sandals,  and a pair of cheap water shoes just in case you have to walk in damp areas.

To conclude, there is a lot you can bring on your trip to Africa, I just touched on a few of the basics. So think to yourself, do I need this or it’s just extra weight?

HACKS FOR YOUR TRIP TO AFRICA https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/hacks-for-your-trip-to-africa https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/hacks-for-your-trip-to-africa CHOOSE A DESTINATION THAT FITS YOUR POCKET

Destination choice must be within your budget or else you’re going to be stuck in that place doing dishes to pay the bill. Of course, the plane ticket might be in your budget, but do you know the cost of living in that place? Seems like a cinch but when you get overly excited about how cheap a plane ticket is you might forget how much you want to spend and for how long. So ask yourself - how much am I willing to spend for all the necessary comforts of a trip to Mauritius?

    AVOID TAXIS

Often the local transport or bus services save a whole lot of your travel expenses compared to taxis. You do not want to be scammed by a driver who uses a longer route just to charge you more especially visiting a new place.

    MINGLE WITH THE LOCALS

Be a sociable person and make new connections. Know local people, speak to them, and let yourself be welcomed to their places to have a meal with them or even spend the night in the places of local people. In some shops, you might even be charged way less than the prices they charge to tourists and be treated like a local.

Rock Climbing Tips for Beginners https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/rock-climbing-tips-for-beginners- https://dombotravel.co.zw/news/rock-climbing-tips-for-beginners- Given its grossly intimidating nature based on its requirements, the best way to learn its techniques is to observe techniques by good climbers.

    Straight arms are happy arms

Arm straightening allows the skeleton to take most of the weight instead of the muscles, the slightest of bends automatically implies that your muscles are holding your body which is not as effective

    Climb with your eyes

Eyes should always be focused on the wall to find holds that offer a quick rest.

    Focus /Use your hips

Keep one hip pushed up against the wall as it helps keep your body weight over your feet to let one lean with straight arms.

When you find a good rest, use it

Allow your pulse and yourself to slow down so that they don’t get pumped.
