Thertford Game Reserve Rock Art site
Found North of Harare in the Mazowe valley,the area is rich in historical and archeological and cultural sites.
Thertford Game Reserve has animals such as Kudu ,Giraffe , Sable, Buffalo,Rhino,Zebra and Eland,Wildpigs, Porcupines and Leopards.
The rocks paintings at the Art site illustrates how the trance dance served a community healing function in Late stone age.
These paintings are believed to have been skilfully drawn on granite faces by late stone age hunters and gatherers.
Thetford Game Reserve activities include Picnic,Fishing,Cycling,Horse Riding,Birding and Weddings accomodation is available.
