Lake Mutirikwi
Lake Mutirikwi is within the Lake Mutirikwi Recreational Park under ZimParks. Lake Mutirikwi Recreational Park, formerly known as Lake Kyle Recreational Park, is 16 900 hectares in extent. Of the total park area, 9 300 hectares is occupied by the Lake at full supply level. This lake is the largest inland man – made lake in Zimbabwe.
Rivers which feed the lake include the Mbebvi River, Matare River, Pokoteke River, Umpopinyani River, Makurumidze River and Mushagashe River.
In the 1980s, drought drastically lowered the water level in the lake, but during the 1990s it recovered. The level fluctuates widely due to irrigation demands and the seasonal rainfall.
