Swimming Tips for Zim swimmers
Given the interactive display on the last swimming piece I have decided to drop some swimming tips for our readers.
T The piece is inspired by Michael Phelps and Olympic coach David Marsh. Mammoths Academy may have hinted me to start off with that to grasp your attention. Anyway, given that informercial is already there I'll graze through for the benefit of our local readership that may not have access to that platform.
1. Swim Tall
Keep your muscles in your lower abs and back taut as you power yourself through the water to keep propulsion from both your arms and legs
Drop an Anchor
Grip the water with your entire forearm and hand, holding your forearm a right angle to your upper arm and digging in like as if you’re gathering sand with a shovel
Keep your head down
“I look pretty much straight down at the bottom of the pool " says Phelps. It helps with reducing strain on your neck and lower back .
Drag your feet . If you kick good you swim good
The secret is ensuring your legs are taut , scissoring you through the water , while your feet remain flexible.
So here you have it lets hit the pool and give it a try !
