Into the Wilderness
Mavhuradonha wilderness area,Declared a National Monument in January 2017 by the government of Zimbabwe
The name Mavhuradonha roughly translates to Land of Falling water, with numerous rivers and streams flowing in this area ,we surely understand where the name came from.
The area has a protected status as a game reserve and wilderness.Animals like Elephants,Zebra ,Kudu, Eland ,Sable ,Lions and Leopards inhabit the wilderness.The area is also home to 290 species of birds.
Accommodation is available and different activities like Hiking , Birdwatching, Game viewing and horse riding.
Historical evidence of San people is also found within the mountains in form of San rock paintings.
